The latest release was not just Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Along with the metal-based phones, Samsung also released the newest processor, the Exynos 5430.
It is a processor, or rather a System on Chip (SoC) which is made with 20nm technology --generasi previous Exynos made with 28nm technology. 20nm technology that is the main advantage of the Exynos 5430. With a smaller die size, power consumption also helped shrink.
In addition, there was no big change in terms of CPU and GPU performance compared to Exynos 5420 or 5422. Eight of its core consists of four core Cortex-A15 speed of 1.8 GHz, and a four-speed core Cortex-A7 1.3 GHz.
It still uses GPU Mali-T628 MP6 speed of 533 MHz. The graphics processor is capable of running WQHD screen resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), and WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels).
Samsung also buried Multi Format Codec with H.265 decoder, and named Seiren separate processor for audio decoding. The existence of H.265 decoder on the Exynos 5430 was similar to that performed in the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC his 805.
There is also a technology called Mobile Image compresion, and Adaptive Display Hibernation, are working to reduce power consumption.
